Lee Kwang-soo's "Mujeong" is one of the masterpieces of Korean novels and deals with the confrontation between traditional Korean culture and urban life.

The novel revolves around the story of Lee Man-soo, an educator in Seoul. Lee Man-soo depicts the inability to find a direction in life while not accepting both traditional and urban values of life. The human relations and conflicts surrounding his life symbolize the confrontation between tradition, cities, and Eastern and Western cultures, and through this, it describes the contradictory modernity of Korea.

"Time does not disappear. Nothing can't happen after all just because we're tired of time. But there are things that cannot happen because of time."
